How does Traingift work? Gift train travel in a few simple steps

Traingift lets you buy a train gift card online and send it by email, PDF or post. The recipient redeems it on the Traingift website by choosing a train journey or rail pass, entering the unique code at checkout and confirming the booking.

Choose the amount and gift format, then let the recipient book when they are ready. It is an easy way to gift a train ride without needing their travel dates, passport details or final destination.

To use a rail travel voucher, go to the Traingift redeem page, search for your route and travel date, choose a train or rail pass, then enter the gift card code at checkout. If the journey is cheaper than the card value, the remaining balance can be used later.

Changes depend on the rail company and the conditions of the ticket you booked. Check the instructions on your ticket first. If changes are allowed, you may be able to make them with the rail company or contact Traingift customer service for help.
